As all other complainants, I entered the Beacon "Guaranteed to Win a Prize" competition - buy 3 packets of sweets, enter all 3 codes... I was contacted and they sent me forms to complete. They sent me a list of prizes in different categories. I chose the Horse Safari as a prize. I was later sent a list of their venues and asked to make a choice. There was NO Horse Safari as a choice. The only choices I have are for Ten Pin Bowling, Ice Skating, Rock Climbing, Indoor Kart Racing, Theatre Sports (what is that?) - and that is for only ONE person to enjoy. I queried this and they responded with: "Unfortunately these are the only venues we currently have on our list."
Even-though I would enjoy some of the prizes, I feel like telling them to stick it! I was excited to win, now I'm annoyed and not interested in supporting this campaign any longer.
The Marketing company running the competition is TLC Marketing. We need to show that THEY are the ones who probably didn't prepare the campaign properly. Beacon briefed them, they were supposed to deliver. So its not just Beacon. A failed promotion at the end of the day. Will people take part again? Maybe...
