So after years of peace-of-mind shopping at your local super. Pick 'n Pay secretly decides to cancel their 'scan-right' policy. What this essentially means is that they no longer guarantee that the price you see on the shelf is the price you pay. In the past you were offered the item free of charge if you were over-charged which was reason enough to not want to shop elsewhere! It seems this is no longer the case. I was over-charged yesterday at Park Meadows and was very rudely made aware that scan-right policy no longer applies as pick 'n pay was "losing money". Well guess what? This effectively translates to the cash-strapped customer now "losing money" if he doesn't check his slip.. There you go SA - this is the thanks you get from apparently "SA's favourite supermarket"
For years my entire family shopped here & once a year or so loved the novelty of getting the occasional tin of baked beans or a bar of soap free of charge! Yet another reason to switch supermarkets in todays tough economic times I guess.
