In brief, I was behind with my House and Home account. I have had this account for over 2 years and have always paid the full installment on time and even a bit more except for the last 3 months when I had financial difficulty. During this time, I did not stop pay but continued to do so although much less than what the installment was.
Well I received a call from Mrs Steenkamp who was absolutely abusive on the phone. She demanded that she will come over and repossess. I explained to her that I had been paying but not the full amount. She was not interested and demanded I paid the arrears and the current month installment, which I have since done. Procedurally this matter was not handled correctly, and as consumer I do have rights. No letter was sent to me. I am angry that after all these months as a loyal customer I was spoken to in that manner. She called me by name, but I had to refer to by her surname. What the is that. I understand that H&H has to recover money but surely I am still a customer at the end of the day. What I do know from this experience I will never shop at H&H again.
