After purchasing 2 items I wanted to use my R75 voucher. The cashier advised me that the items were already on promotion and that I may not use a voucher with it. The system doesn't allow it. I then referred to the voucher which had terms and condition printed on it. Nothing states that the voucher may not be used in conjunction with a promotion. The voucher also has no further terms and conditions that may apply because there's no words indicating that. Neither the register slip's backside nor the website's terms and conditions indicate anything about the use of vouchers.
I then went to customer care where I spoke to Abdul, who was very helpful, who told me that he supports what I am saying, but the system doesn't allow them to subtract the voucher. So this is a head office problem.
So I would like to know from Edgars where it is stated that a voucher may not be used in conjunction with a promotion? And if this cannot be proven, why the system is not allowing it when it is clearly suppose to be allowed? Surely this is a violation of the consumer protection act.
