I bought a voucher for a meal from the City Slicker website. As per the terms and conditions of the voucher I have to phone and make a booking in order to use it. I tried to make a booking for about 2 weeks - unfortunately the restaurant did not answer their cell phone (only number listed), they do not have a website and they do not have land line. The voucher "expired" after 3 months.
1 As per the CPA vouchers are valid for 3 years - why does CitySlicker not print the correct legal information on their vouchers?
2 Now that I want a refund, I can only get a credit to use on the CitySlicker website. This is because I didn't cancel within 7 days of buying the voucher. I paid by credit card - why can I not have my CC refunded? I don't want another voucher.
"Where ever the CPA entitles a consumer to a refund, it must be interpreted to mean that the consumer has the election on how to receive the refund. This means that while refunds as in-store vouchers or credits are not illegal per se, if the consumer demands a cash refund you must give it to them. Also in terms of s56, the consumer, not the supplier has the election on whether to chose the refund, replacement or repair"
