On Saturday we got to Edgars in Bayside a little before closing time. I don't live in the area and don't know the closing times in the shopping centre. About half an hour after closing time, we were done with our shopping and wanted to pay for our purchases. Nobody had told us that the shop was closing and we were unaware of this. When we got to the tills, there were 5 cashiers cashing up. Another one told us to wait and somebody would attend to us shortly. A little while later, the manager turned up, saw us waiting and told one of the cashiers to assist us. He also jumped in and tried to put our purchases through. He was very courteous and made us feel like valued customers.
The same cannot be said for the cashiers, however. They should take a leaf out of their manager's book.
Edgars is not renowned for its helpful staff and I was pleasantly surprized. Thank you, Mr Davids.
