I have lost count as to the number of times I have purchased the 'special' beef at Checkers in Scottburgh, only to find it rotten!!! It has not been past the expiry date.
Today I purchased some rib eye, we cooked it tonight, only to find once again it is rotten!
I did rinse the meat beforehand, and did have a slightly off smell... but thought it could be from the blood in the sealed container... that was the reason given by the Butchery Manager the last time I took meat back... about a month ago!
I have spoken to the Branch Manager, the Butcher Manager and others, with no luck.
I would like to get some confirmation from Checkers Head Office that the butcher will be closed, or given to someone else to manage. (I am lead to believe that the butchery is not managed by Checkers).
Next step is to get the Health Inspectors to check as to whether they are working in hygienic conditions... perhaps this is why the meat is rotten so often!
