Today I'd been to Festival Mall to meet some friends, and afterwards I decided we should buy stuff for supper at the Checkers while in Festival Mall; I chose Checkers because the Pick n Pay down the way had a bad attitude towards complaints and less then lack-luster produce.
Gordon Ramsay is quite a huge inspiration in my life and while sceptical about his advertisements for Checkers butchers I decided to give Checkers a chance.
We bought some Pork Steaks for dinner, and when I opened the packaging a rank smell came over me. It was foul! Worse than grease traps I've cleaned in the past and the smell came from the meat as well. I determined that the smell could come from the packaging so I rinsed the meat off in water and the smell had not disappeared.
I decided to cook one of the 7 steaks I'd bought but the smell was still there. The pork was most definitely rotten which forced me to buy an alternative from a local Spar. Needless to say, I'm not very happy.
A butchery Gordon Ramsay would buy from? He'd never buy from a place that sells rotten meat, lets get that right.
