My domestic worker bought a fridge on credit for R3771.89. She was charged and additional R666.67 but received no goods or services for this amount. Final cost of credit for fridge... R10914.51.
I paid the full outstanding debt for her. Despite the payment, she was still billed for her monthly instalment.
I was told various untruths by the call centre, and finally after much faxing and paperwork, was told that the credit on her account was reflecting but that she would have to go the branch where she bought the item to instruct them to refund her.
The instalment is /-R450.00, which is a big deal in her life and I find this pathetic and disgusting. Worth the attention of the CPA.
