Activating account on my behalf

I closed my Edgars account years ago, only to receive an email stating they Activated my 6 month plan? How is this possible? Already received an account to be paid as well.
Once this happened, I started receiving promotional emails. I tried contacting them on the number provided 0860 112 442 (Customer Service), but should have known that the they won't even answer the phone, which is exactly what happened.
