Credit Card division very unhelpfull

Recently I applied for a Game credit card as I do buy a lot of things at game. I applied online, then I went to them a month later, Game the had nothing to link me to an application form. I applied in store and the lady in store said 1 month bank statement would be ok. She then told me that if she can speak to my manager on a land line it would not be neccesary for the bank statements etc. The only landline was my managers home landline. I arranged with her to be at home when they would call. 11am I asked them to call, they didn't. I phoned them again at 12 and they promised that they would call me as soon as I put the phone down. 1pm still nothing. I phoned them again and they said they couldn't get through despite me confirming the telephone number 3 times and waiting WITH MY MANAGER at the phone. They asked me to send the bank statements en payslip. I told them I can only get 2 month's statement and they said it would not do. Then I got a sms stating that unfortunatly I did not qualify for credit at game. Now I have to wait 6 months to reapply. Why could you not have called my manager on her cell? I felt so ashamed to keep her waiting for the call.
