Treated like at criminal at Game / RCS accounts

On Saturday 24 Aug I went to buy goods at Game Zevenwacht Mall to the value of about R1300. When trying to pay with my Game card, I was told I needed an authorisation number from their (acc dept). This was at 6pm, and the dept was closed, so I could not make the purchase. I was told auth.no is needed if the previous purchase was a large amount.
(My credit limit is only R5000, and the prev purchase about R3000 - is that such a large amt to block a card?) I told the staff I would be back the next morning, as there were some items they were keeping for me.

The next morning, after spending an hour shopping again, they phoned the finance dept to get the auth no. After at least 20 min, I was called to the phone and after confirming my details, they wanted to know the amount of my last purchase. I could not remember as this was at least two months ago. They then said they will block my card & I needed to re-apply for credit.?? I was in a Game store, with positive id, could confirm all my details, had my last Game statement with me, had credit available, but because I could not remember the amt of a purchase I made months ago, I was treated as a criminal? I was traumatised!
