Ad customer service / no follow up from complaint

I complained on 27 Sep it has been over 2 weeks with no response to that complaint!
On the 22 Sep I purchased a cup-cake stand. I bought a cardboard one for R49.99. I opened it on the 24th to put it together for the party I was having. One of the cardboard sides that is the main legs of the stand was completely torn off. I took the whole lot back to the Store the next day. I couldn't find the slip anywhere - but the price tag is on the item. The duty manager said she can't refund me without the docket because there was an add. discount on the discounted items recently. I said well surely you can check when that was. I even knew the time I was in the store. She said no. If there had been that discount would have been R12.49. Surely customer satisfaction is worth more to you than R12.49! The worst part was when I said to her I'm going to have to contact your head office she said ok and walked away. Your staff don't give a about customer service or any repercussions. It was clearly a display model and was damaged when taking it apart to put back into the wrapping - and they still have the audacity to sell the item! - with no warning that it was damaged!
