Today a person apparently representing the Pick N Pay at Canal Walk Cape Town came into my shop selling gift vouchers.
Long story short, she presented documents that she works at Pick N Pay and the vouchers (1 to the value of R2000 and 1 valued at R1000) Pick N pay is running a promotion where they help smaller superettes and then sell the vouchers to them at half price for tobacco and cooldrink purchases.
I have full video footage of exactly what happened. When she left we went to check the vouchers balance and it was... R0.00
Doesn`t Pick n Pay run security measures not to sell vouchers/gift cards when they dont load funds onto it??? I think that is pathetic. I purchase about R3000 a week from Pick n Pay. Still in shock at the moment but don`t think i`ll buy from them again. At least Spar or Checkers is just around the corner from me.
