Closing accounts on ITC

I have had an account with edgars for years and i went into a short fall. this was my mistake which i acknowledge.
however after due time i ensured i paid up the account and closed it. i specifically wanted to clear up my ITC.
when i closed the account, Months ago at eastrand mall, i asked them to enure that the account was listed as closed.
months later i do a credit check and what do i find. nothing has been done, on ITC i still have an open account for a rather large sum of money.
i then contacted edgars via telephone requesting once again to insure that the listing on ITC shows as closed.
i understand ITC will not remove it, however it will reflect as closed and not as me owing.
I was assured this would be done. i left it for another month. once again after doing a credit check, there it was. me owing money again, which is a false report.

this is pathetic how such a huge company cannot sort out their accounts department.!
this needs to be urgently addressed.
