I have had my woolworths account for the last 12 months. Initially, I setup a standing order paying 125% of the payment due, paying them early. I switched to ebilling instead of through the post, since then never received a bill. My standing order expired without my knowledge and I landed up being late on the payment. Instead of contacting me when the payment was not received (by email or phone) woolworths just decided to hand my details over to a debt collection agency and notify the credit reporting companies.
I am shocked, a simple call or email would have made me check. I have since settled the account, with a view of closing it. I'm going to close my black credit card with woolworths at the same time. Perhaps Edgars will treat its clients better.
