I have had an Edgars account for the past 19 years from 1994 till 2013. I did run into an issue with paying my account in January and thus made arrangements to pay a reduced amount by a certain date every month.

What occurred thereafter, was that the tele-sales consultant/s never put the arrangement on the account and thus kept calling me every month, without fail, whereby I reinstated the agreement (but yet again not put on my account).

By April my account was reduced to a third of what it was in January, but then I received 5 calls from Edcon at the same time, with the consultant asking me the same question 5 times in each call. I subsequently paid the full balance owing and closed my account on the 5th April 2013 (after 19 years of being with this retailer).

I recently tried to apply for a credit application and found out that I was listed on ITC for not paying my account. On enquiry with ITC, it showed that i owed a balance of R1, 684 (which I had already paid-up as you will not be allowed to close an account if you have not paid the account in full).

This is most unaccepable as it takes 21 days to remove such listing whereby I have lost the credit deal I applied fo
