A while back we purchased chicken at Checkers Gezina which was off. When we went back to complain, their butcher manager just brushed it off saying they sell it for a discount and it's not their fault, but their suppliers. We were infuriated and I posted a complaint on Checkers' twitter page. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the response. We were contacted by Customer Service and they told us the manager of the store will contact us to personally apologise. I thought it wont happen. Surely, she did. I can't remember her name, but she was an Indian lady who took our matter very seriously. She said she will discipline the butcher manager and promised us that this was not how they value their customers or products. She also said that if we ever come into the store again, she would like to apologise personally and ask him to apologise. I do have to say, it was a great feeling that our situation was valued and that they took measures. We will definitely shop their again and now we feel free to go to the manager whenever we have issues, compliments or questions. Thanks Checkers - better and better!
