Meat past sell by date on shelfs

I wanted to buy pork steak and pork fillets (Farm Stead) The sell by date is 2/10/13 on the filliets and on the steak it is 4/10/13.
I called the Manager on duty Joshua. He said that the butchery doesnt belong to checkers but is a outside company. He called the manager and he said eish I do not know this is fresh meat they must have labelled it wrongly. Bad explanation.
If I go into checkers I buy from checkers not another company. | wonder if Gordon Ramsay is aware of the fact that the butcheries he promotes doesn't belong to checkers.
Since August I promised myself I will not go back to checkers because of different reasons and bad costumer service I thought I will give them a try again and now this.
