Do not want to return incorrect item

Last week we bought 1x Epson Multipack ink/cart. When we opened the outside cover, we realised that it was supposed to be Hp and not Epson. The outside top packet cover has been opened, but the individual cartridges is still unopened and in their original packaging. This morning when I tried to return it at about 10h30 at Cape gate, the lady said it cant be returned, because the packaging has been opened. I can understand that you cant return a cartridge that is opened, but they are not, its only the outside top part of the wrapper. Before I run to the newspaper, social media, etc., please give me a valid reason why this 4 unclosed cartridges can not be returned?
This is the message I left on there website on the 22.08.13 and till now I did not receive any response! Pathetic!
