Why place orders

I purchased a jacket by identity as a gift, however the jacket was too small.
I returned the jacket unfortunately the shop now longer had any.
I then placed a order to have the jacket delivered almost 2 weeks ago.

On the 19/08/2013 i received an sms to tell me my order has been cancelled as the jacket is out of stock.
I do not understand because at the time the order was placed the jacket was availible and why did it take Identity almost 2 weeks to advise the order is cancelled.

I do not understand why i would have to place an order just to have it cancelled close to delivery date and have an extermely dissapointed baby sister as she really liked the jacket.

This is really dissapointing as i have been a loyal account holder for almost 5 years.
Seriously considering closing the account once the balnce is paid up.
