We purchased an ice machine for our holiday home in Kenton and this was used for the first time in December 2011. Within 3 weeks it broke down. On completion of our holiday we returned to Johannesburg and were told that we were out of the 12 month warranty. I pointed out that their sign behind the service counter said they would honor guarantees even if they were beyond the guarantee period which happened to be only 2 weeks. I reluctantly paid for the service costs to repair the unit. I took the repaired unit to our holiday home and in December 2012 the machine having not been used since the repairs in March 2012 worked for 3 weeks and then packed up completely. I have left the machine in Kenton believing that the Dion organisation does not honor its reasonable obligations but when speaking to a friend who is a member of the consumer council in Johannesburg, they suggested that I contact "HelloPeter.com" before taking this further.
