Unacceptable behaviour by store manage

On 29 Dec 2012 i purchased a Floor Wiz Pro Eco Fibre Mop from the vermark store in Vangate Mall, which comes with a 1 year quality guarantee, as printed on the box. The stitching of the mop came loose, and when i took it into the store on Saturday 2013-01-19 I spoke to the store manager about my problem, as this is the 3rd mop of this kind i have bought there and had the same problem. Previously i was assisted there by Tina who gave me a replacement, but when i spoke to the manager he looked at the mop, shoved it into the box and put it back into my packet and said that it is not guaranteed. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. While i have made many purchases from Verimark in the past, my experience last Saturday will have me not ever going back. I contacted Customer Care on Monday 2013-01-21, and was assured by Javed, whom I spoke to, that he would call the store and get back to me. To date i have had no feed back. For such a big company to have employees so unmindful of what good customer service should be is a travesty, and they will lose many customers if things like this continue.
