I was visiting Namibia last week. I decided to purchase a gift at Mr Price Maerua Mall. The store had just opened so it was very quiet. When I went to the cashiers to pay. (I bought a hat N$ 59.95). I only had my chip cheque card with me, I was told that they want to see my ID. They never informed me that its company policy., Even though its a pin enabled card??? The cashier checked with the manager who then just shook her head and said she CANT allow it. I had to walk back to my car to fetch my ID which wasted time. On my return i asked to speak to the branch manager. The lady replied that she was the branch manager. I would like to know who gave her the right to label me and I quote " YOU PEOPLE" like it was a race related issue? I took her to task about service levels and what is expected when dealing with a client. Normally a greeting is in line followed by an explanation as to why ID is required. She did the exact opposite. I asked her for her name and she REFUSED. I informed her that I was going to take this matter up and she said that I must do what I want to do as she does not care. This attitude will not get the store anywhere. This impacts negatively on the Brand.
