Bad service

I had taken out an account with OK and have been paying well. I recently lost my job explained to them that I do not want to return the goods because I will end up being blacklisted, I would just like to continue paying but can it be a lesser amount for a longer period or until I get a job then I will pay a bigger amount. I spoke to 1 of the consultant's that deal with the Jabulani branch and all she could tell me was that the instalment cannot be reduced I should either return the goods and get listed or pay the full amount. Since I am not working is this whole thing fair?
