Once again my local Checkers has disappointed me enough for me to use this platform to voice my complaints - and there are many. Today I walked out without my purchase. After waiting in a queue for several minutes the cashier decided that she only accepts card payments. I checked, there was no poster or sign indicating such and no manager to explain this to me.
Almost daily I have to insist on the cashier giving me the correct change. You have to carefully select the items you buy due to expired stock not being removed, or stock simply being rotten prior to expiry date. That is of course if the items are even on the shelf - some shelves are perpetually empty and staff refuse to check the store rooms for your item. They put raw chicken and processed chicken on the same shelf (according to me this is very risky). You have to check the cashier and the packer or you'll end up not getting your change, paying for something you didn't want or leaving without the things you did buy. Finally, when you are about to lose all control and need a senior staff member to assist, they are nowhere to be found. Not a pleasant shopping experience at all - Gordon Ramsey never visited my branch.
