I ceased paying into my pension fund on 30 January 2012 and due to moving countries closed my bank account in SA. Grant Thornton refused to pay into an overseas account (which they could have done but were to lazy to do) and so after sitting with my money for a full year and me returning to South Africa to open another SA bank account so that they could pay me my money I am still waiting for the pay out. The money is well under the tax free threshold and they have been sitting with my money, ( besides the initial year) since I have given them the banking details, for over 2 months. Every time I enquire I keep getting told the money will be in by Friday - that was 6 or so Fridays ago and I have yet to see my money! I am fed up now!
