I bought a pair of ladies boots at Bata roughly two weeks ago, I decided to wear them out to church the following day and felt that the one heel wasn't sturdy, it felt like it wasn't aligned with the rest of the shoe making the edge of the sole scrape against my heel.
So I went to Bata to request an exchange for a different pair and got told to leave it there until the regional manager comes around to see whether I had a right to exchange or not because they cannot see major manufacturing faults with it. After arguing for over 30 mins I asked her for the RM's number, I phone him to explain and he tells her to grant my request, to my surprise a new pair didn't zip up my calf (Shows the poor manufacturing as a whole) and so she finally agrees to a refund after more than 40mins in store. Why doesn't Bata comply with the consumer law? Store policy needs to be in alignment with that. Needless to say I will never in my life buy another pair of shoes from them and I'm pretty sure the 5 other people who left the store after witnessing this also wouldn't.
