I purchased an HP Officejet PRO 8600 two days ago and tried to install it last night, it would not function with the software provided on the accompanying CD. The sales lady Charmaine at the computer hardware department of Wonderboom's Makro store failed to explain to me that I would have to download the software for Windows 8 when I purchased a printer. When I phoned her this morning I requested Charmaine to SMS me the number of HP in Midrand. She did not do so or reply to subsequent calls and I was eventually phoned by a Mr J Erasmus of Makro who, after my explanation, offered to refund me for the printer on return. He was very apologetic and kind. It has cost me time and a lot of money for the download which did not assist in getting the printer to communicate with my laptop in any case.
