I bough an HP Printer from Makro in 2012, the sales-person advised that the printer has a 3 year warranty, that is automatically given with the printer. The printer became faulty after a year, when it was given in for repairs, the service centre advised that the printer was not registered for the warranty, but was registered for other services. At no point was I advised by the sales person that I needed to register the printer for the warranty, now I should pay more than R 1000.00 for repairs on the printer. The previous manager who passed the buck onto someone else advised that she would resolve the matter for me, creating an impression that the printer would be repaired. After 2-3 months without the use of the printer I am advised that they will not carry any loss I must pay or lose out. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE. The sale person actually took me away from a rival product to sell me the "NEW TYPE" of HP printer. Makro a keen and eager to promote a brand but not so keen to provide service when the product has problems!
