Unfair Business practice

On 11 April 2013 I ordered and paid in full for 4 cakes from Direct Bakery, Grassy Park. I advised the sales assistant, Natasha that I will be collecting the cakes after church the following Sunday. When I arrived at the shop on Sunday, I discovered that the shop had closed at 13:00 pm and that they are closed on Mondays. I called the shop on Tuesday and they refused to refund me as they said that they dont do refunds. I was never informed of their trading hours and i didnt see any notice in the shop advising that they dont do refunds. I am so humiliated as the manager made me out to be a as she wrote to the consumer protection (when i files a complaint) that i WAS informed of the trading hours and the shop assistant took down my contact details, which she never did! I asked her when she took my order if they need my contact details and she said that its not necessary, I can use the receipt when collecting. I spoke to the manager which advised me goods off the shelf as it expired and they can only refund half. I feel this is so unfair as i lost out as i needed the goods and had to spend more money the replace the ones that i never got to use?
