Family bought this GPS in 2012 for me (R3, 000) as a present. After less than 7 months, battery would not hold charge, so I was unable to use Live service at all. Frustrated badly by difficulty in contacting Tom Tom help line. Eventually got through by phone and was told by Scottish consultant in Holland to take it to place of purchase. Family was unable to find receipt. Found purchase receipt and presented it at store ONE day after expiry. Refused to replace. Tom Tom website had closed the previous complaint and would not respond to 4 different e-mails. I was not able to contact their helpline again. Had already purchased map upgrade at over R500 via Tom Tom website, but was unable to use the thing. My son took it back to Due South in Eastgate where he bought it for me and asked them to repair. They refused to give him a repair quote saying it was not worth it and he should rather buy a new one. Many subsequent attempts to contact Tom Tom help desk were just blocked by their website.
I am disgusted at both Due South and Tom Tom. They will never see me ever again and no Tom Tom is worth R3, 500 plus for less than 7 months efffective use!
