On 26th April, I bought a TV (42" LG 3D FHD LED Smart) from Makro to the value of R6999 the extended warranty for R759. I left Makro with total peace of mind that I had a good TV for the next 5 years.
On 28th April, the DSTV PVR was on special and I bought this together with the installation voucher. (Still sealed because I could only use it once the TV was connected.)
After lots of looking around, on 18th May, we found a plasma unit TV stand and on Saturday afternoon, I started to disconnect the old TV and set up the new one.
When my wife and I removed the TV out of the box, the glass of the TV was badly cracked. We immediately put the TV back into the box.
On Sunday morning, I came to Makro to explain to customer services what happened. They have kept the TV but nobody is contacting me for an update/feedback. I submitted a complaint on the website and it said response within 24 hours, but nobody is contacting me from that channel either.
This is petty cash to Makro, but it took me a few months to save up. I put my faith in a trusted brand and they sold me a broken TV. I have been left in the cold awaiting a favourable response.
