We bought 2 packard bell laptops in Germiston Makro. When we opened boxes, one was damaged and we took it back to Germiston Makro. They accepted it but did not have stock to replace it. That was at the beginning of April. Yesterday, Germiston gave me a credit note and sent me to Alberton where they had stock of the same laptop. On arrival, the Supervisor, an Indian gentleman, Vishal (if not mistaken), told us to pay extra because the laptop in store is a newer version (upgraded).

I asked him repeatedly if i should pay anything because Makro sold me a broken/damaged unit and this is not customer care, he refused to replace the unit saying it is not the same laptop type. I paid him extra R300 and when i got home, compared both laptops, there is no difference whatsoever. It is exactly the same unit.

I am not happy since i had to drive all the way to Alberton, get service which i had to pay for when i should not have. I want my money (R300) back and an apology from this guy and hopefully Makro provide customer care skills training to him or move him elsewhere.

Further, i will not drive back but willing to collect from Germiston Makro.
