On 31 December 2012 I applied for a Platinum Credit Card after receiving numerous adverts urging me to take up the offer. At the branch I was told that the process takes up to 7 working days from applying to receiving my credit card. I received an email on 8 Jan 2013 stating that my account had been opened and that I would be contacted shortly to arrange delivery of my card. It has now been 8 days since receiving the email and I have heard nothing more from the bank! This makes it 17 days since my application. I called the number provided on the email for queries and spoke to a lady named Charity who said that she will put me through to the "platinum department". I then spoke to a man named Charl who said that my query was not a concern of his department and that he could not help me except to put me through to the applications department. I waited to be put through and after several minutes the line died. This service at FNB is disgusting! I have been shunted around and treated poorly to say the least! If this is not rectified soon I will be forced to move all of my business to a competent banking institution. This is my second major complaint about FNB this month. Unacceptable!
