I was unemployed and I have been sending emails to ADT to keep them updated, as I was unable to pay. I was prepared to pay the outstanding amount but requested that the account be terminated. After numerous emails, telephone calls and a visit to the Westrand Branch about my account I received an email from Stompie Massagai: Stating as follows:
As per our telephonic conversation, (31/12/2012) this is to confirm that the account contract was terminated on the 17/July/2012 due to non-payment.
The account is on a zero balance as per my supervisor confirmed that you not owing any amount.
I then asked again for confirmation and quoted my address and Id number again, and this was confirmed again by Stompie. Today I received a call from an Attorney's firm with regards to an outstanding amount. This is bad practice, now they have requested attorneys to collect the outstanding amount. If this is how ADT operates I will never use them again as my preferred security company. I have the proof of the mentioned emails.
