I received an email from ADT advising me that they intended to bill me extra for an excessive number of calls - seven - in one month. Given that I was at home at the time of the alleged activations I decided that I had had enough of ADT and cancelled my contract.
Subsequent to the cancellation I received a call from ADT, during which they insulted me by offering to reduce my monthly charge if I didn't cancel. The call was terminated abruptly once they discovered that I wasn't interested in remaining with ADT.
Despite multiple requests ADT refused to acknowledge my cancellation in writing / email.
The cancellation was submitted during August, i.e. the notice period ran for the month of September, with the contract termination effective at the end of September.
ADT ignored the cancellation and submitted the debit order for October's services.
I complained immediately. However, after spending well over two hours on the phone to ADT, I am still no closer to getting my money than I was when I started.
