I cancelled my services with ADT in November 2012. I was required in terms of the contract with them to pay a cancellation fee. I inquired via e-mail whether the cancellation fee would be paid by debit order or if I have to pay direct and received no response. I therefore assumed that it would be taken by debit order. After some months I received a statement that indicated that my cancellation was ignored and they were debiting my account as if ADT were still providing a service - they were not, another security company took over the equipment in November 2012. They insisted that I pay a new cancellation fee and all outstanding monthly service fees despite the fact that I cancelled. They continue to debit my account even though they have not provided a security service to me for over nine months. I consider this and. No amount of explanation and interaction with ADT will bring them to see reason - they seem to think that I should just pay any amount that they think I should pay without any reasonable basis for it.
