No Service delivery but quick to demand pay

I bought a unit in a security complex and decided to take extra security with ADT due to the fact that I was away from home often.
when signing the contract we enquired for the sales person how they will enter the complex.
His answer was that they will sort it out.
Over the next two years after numerous alarm triggers all we got was a letter in the post the next day that they could not enter the complex.
That was defeating the purpose and I complained but got no answer on my letters.
I felt that they were in breach of contract and stopped payment.
They were then quick to demand the rest of the contract payment of 6 months but were not prepared to answer my letter of complaint and are now threatening with legal action.
