Punished for not calling!

I am a DSTV multi-view subscriber since the service became available. About a month ago we had a faulty decoder which my wife swapped at the Randburg office and this week we experienced a problem again in that not all channels were available.
I phoned the call centre today and after the usual advice about re-booting and checking cables, was told to bring in both decoders for testing.
My problem is that apparently my wife was told when she swapped decoders that she then had to call after we had installed the new unit. She didn't call and so Multichoice have cancelled my multi-view service and instead have billed me double for two seperate services.
I was first told that this was what we had requested but after I asked the question as to who in their right mind would request paying double for no additional services.
I asked if we are being punished for being naughty and not phoning but was told that this is the way the service works. No e-mail, no phone call just double the bill.
On top of this I was told that the only way to remedy the problem is by Mulichoice deactivating one of my decoders and so limiting my viewing options.
