I bought a guitar from Raslo sound & music in the Middelburg mall on 20/10/2013 and later realised it was faulty. When I asked the owner for a refund he replied by saying he doesn't run a pawn shop. He told me I have to pick something for the same price (R4400). According to the new consumer protection act I am liable to a refund, but I don't have the funds to get a lawyer involved. I had to have another guitar ordered and pay in R300, which was all good because I love the new guitar. But in the end I paid R4700 for it. When I phoned around to get price estimates on the guitar (it's a Takamine EG450) I found a shop in Sandton, TOMS sound and music, and they told me their cash price on that same guitar is R3700. So firstly I am unhappy about the way the issue with the defective instrument was handled and I am very unhappy that I was forced to pay R1000 more for a guitar I could have bought from TOMS for R3700.
