Swop decoders with faulty stock

My PVR decoder started giving problems during last week. I took the unit to the service centre in Umhlanga where I was told that the unit was faulty and that it had to be exchanged. I was charged R510.00 and handed a refurbished unit (Consumer Protection Act loophole). I was assured that all would be in working order. Having arrived at home, the unit was plugged in but the Xtraview facility did not work. I contacted the Durban Call Centre who could not assist me and informed me that I had to contact the installers (obviously the information was not on their script). I managed to fix it, however, the PVR remote eye was not operational. I took the unit back to Umhlanga this morning, who confirmed that the eye was faulty. The unit was rebooted and "tested". Back home, same story. I phoned again yet to be forwarded from person to person, each time having to repeat my details. I was "assisted" by a textbook with a soundwave. After I explained that she was not assisting me and that I have driven 100 km in the two days because of them, transferred me to their quality assurance it system. No explanation etc. I am now expected to drive another 50 km for them to sort out thei
