We went to Bafana Bafana match last night, very excited. What an electric atmosphere, exciting game and Bafana won 2 -0! Would have been an awesome night if the millions of security personnel and police present could actually control /- 30 unruly and rowdy spectators who blocked our view, took over our seats and refused to sit down, no matter who (security, police and spectators) asked them to do so. Our seats were in the third row, these spectators marched through the 1st and 2nd rows before the match could start and ended up right in front of us. They stayed there for the duration of the game STANDING the whole time, sometimes even on the seats. The police asked them to sit, they argued with them and so the police just left. I approached the stadium security (black suits) at half-time and he told me that they were going to 'sort them out now' never happened. I happened to bump into someone from management and upon partially relating my story to a very rude Indian man, he offered tickets somewhere else Why do we pay for tickets, get allocated a seat and then cannot sit in that seat and watch the game. Pointless having a worldclass venue & 3rd class security. only thing police do is watch game!
