On the 22 of April I called Top Tv to cancel my debit order of R338 which has been running for over 2 years, they told me that they can't cancel it as the account is not under my name but my husband's. Asked them why did the allowed debits on my account if I wont be able to cancel and from 2010 all correspondence is sent to me not him? the consultant gave me the most satisfying answer " I DON'T KNOW ". Later on my husband called and the consultant said its done however if they debit I can go to the bank and reverse it. Yesterday the money went off and I went to the bank today just to be annoyed further. Top tv REFUSED to give the bank the authority to cancel the debit order as I am not the account holder. I mean?? You gladly arrange a debit order with me, debit my account for 28 months with a smile and tell me I can't cancel? What is the use to call the call centre if nothing will be done? 1.this is a waste of airtime as they don't answer the phone most of the time, 2. I don't spend my spare time visiting the bank for nothing, 3. I don't owe Top TV a cent all I need is for them to cancel the debit order so dat I can throw away their decoder luckily I hv DSTV as well.
