I moved into my apartment Oct 2012.

I cannot lock one of the doors entering my unit which leaves my personal belongings vulnerable.
The stove much too hot to properly cook and the bathroom roof has sever water damage.
I was twice verbally assured that the water damage would be fixed before I moved in. I noted all these problems and more upon moving in, on their provided forms.

Not once have I withheld payment as per my lease agreement. Now I am sick and tired of living in this dump. It's an embarrassment when I receive guests. Now they want to charge me a substantial amount for penalties to cancel the lease early and claim that the lack of maintenance and lease agreement are "unrelated".

I was also told they would issue me the lease if I singed for 2 years after it was originally advertised as a 1 year lease. I was leased the apartment under false information which is in contravention of the CPA.

This is disgusting and I will pursue legal advice.
