Recently, I had to cancel a Lease half way through the contract. As per my Lease Agreement / Contract, an early cancellation fee of R800 Vat is due as Penalties. I was prepared to Pay this, but was stumped to find out that I will not be getting my R6 500 damage deposit back, as I suddenly have to pay R11 228 UPFRONT, before I get my R6 500 back. Does this make any Sense? None of these "costs" appear on my contract except for the R800, Neither was this communicated to me verbally at the time of signing the Lease (Which was advertised at 6 months, then changed to 1 year) at the last minute. Had I known about this, I would Never have signed the Lease. I have never dealt with more unprofessional people in my life... from non communication, no responses to queries to Paperwork. Needless to say, If this is not resolved soon, I will be contacting My attorney and this will go to court.
