We are vacating a property in Gillview (Johannesburg South) rented through NL. When we queried why the deposit refund could take up to 80 days when the contract states 14 days, we were advised by Esme that we had signed the wrong contract. Her advise was for me to take a loan at the bank or to ask my family to all put money together to help out. I paid a R2500-00 water and lights deposit when I moved in but I am now informed that the entire rental and water and lights deposit is being held incase the final W&L account exceeds R2500.00. Highly unlikely. Will I get the interest earned on my deposit as stated in the contract??? When you call in to their offices, you feel as you have just called the Luminati. The receptionist is so hesitant to transfer you call and when she eventually does the you hold on forever. Come on guys. I just want to move out. My deepest sympathies to the family who will be moving in after we leave. How is this company still in operation?? Has anyone who is renting through NL ever seen an actual municipality account?? Close up shop and rather open up a dealership on Jules Street. It would be more your style.
