Last year January, I was expected to pay a HEFTY deposit to accomodate a flat in the Chenell Complex, Brackenfell.
June last year, our drains were blocked. They sent a plumber to fix this. The plumber came with bottles of chemicals and poured it down the kitchen sink, down the shower, the bath and basin. He still advised I get these chemicals as they worked wonders, but that I must never let the chemical get into contact with my skin as it can BURN THROUGH ME! This clever chap of a plumber LEFT one bottle of the chemical on the KITCHEN COUNTER - which is now DAMAGED. After reporting this incident the agency now tells me the owner wants us to pay over R5000 for replacing the entire kitchen counter, for a mark that's smaller than the palm of my hand. Irrespective of the size, the plumber now denies he was ever at the flat. Our deposit is now being held back all because the agency has not done its homework thoroughly. How can they not know which plumber they sent? We, husband and I, moved out of the flat the 30th January 2013. The agency was eager to accept our deposit, but are not to pay it back!!
I want my money!! It's apparently the plumber's word against ours???
