I saw an advert on Private Property for a place in Lyttelton Manor 135 Trichard road in Centurion for R5, 950 3 Bedrooms and 1bathroom and a garden for the 1st of April 2013, so i thought this is perfect for my family cause i have 2 small boys, i called and spoke in english and Zelda the one who advertised answered... the next thing this white lady says: "sorry its already taken"... i asked a white colleague of mine to call and she spoke in afrikaans and asked if the property was still available for rental and she says "Ya dit is beskikbaar en is n huis" and gives her the owners number... excuses me!!! why advertise the place in the first place if u dont want black people there... or why didnt she say "Whites Only"... so ek moet eintlik afrikaans gepraat het... and its not the 1st time this happens...
I feel that i was treated unfairly because of the sound of my voice or i did not express myself in the language that the agent preferred...
