We went to look at a house in Mountain View on Sunday that we wanted to rent from Werner Rentals. First of all he was late nevertheless we looked at the property and confirmed that we will take it. He told us that he will phone us back later, which he did and he confirmed that we can rent the property and he will email us the necessary documents for completion. On Monday we received the contract and arranged for the money so that we can pay it over into the specific bank account that was given. On Tuesday we phoned him and confirmed that the money will be paid in cash into his bank account and he confirmed that it's fine. Tuesday night we receive an sms from him stating that he rented the property out to someone else and he is sorry.
This is unethical as he didn't even phone but just send an sms! And this after we confirmed that we will rent the property and pay the necessary fees. The house was only available from the 1st of August and we would've paid the deposit in on Wednesday the 24th of July.
